Make Soup

After all the intensity of the holidays...soup sounds good. We had a different type of Christmas this year as we said good bye to the matriarch of the family. So having a warm bowl of soup is not only healthy for the New Year but comforting. The cost of making soup for dinner is nominal and there is always at least a serving or two left over for the next day's lunch. Tonight we had sweet potatoe-carrot soup. It was filling and good!
Tip # 32: Invest some time in making soup and enjoy the rewards!

Cut in Half and Save

One of the last things I saw my mother do was cut tissue paper in half to conserve. She was wrapping her Christmas gifts and needed to be resourceful since her supplies were limited. She carefully cut pieces of tissue paper in half so there was plenty to go around all the gifts. She was an amazing lady. My admiration for her is hard to describe and I will miss one of the original "Miss Penny Savers" greatly.
TIP # 31: Be careful and appreciate what you have since you never know how long it will last!
